Umer Hayat Sheikh
(Late)
The late Umer Hayat Sheikh, the founding father of the company, was born in 1930 in Lahore, and was raised in an upper-middle-class family. The untimely demise of his parents led him on a detour from finishing his college education; and jump right into the business world at a very young age. Realizing the need to overcome his own battles, he started a polyurethane foam manufacturing unit in 1949, at a small scale, in his hometown. Staying true to the principles of quality, innovative design and value-for-money products, he received orders from every corner of Pakistan. Umar Hayat Sheikh’s history is filled with examples of dedicated efforts for the growth of the Foam Industry in Pakistan. Laying the foundation of Al-Khair Group Limited (AKGL), his life is a story of success through sheer hard work and an undaunting spirit of entrepreneurship.
